The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, today (July 29) called on Indonesian Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Mr Patrialis Akbar and Indonesian Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, Drs. H.A. Muhaimin Iskandar.

At the meetings both sides agreed to strengthen mutual co-operation in various areas, including law enforcement and management of the entry of Indonesian domestic helpers.

Mr Lee noted that there were over 100,000 Indonesian domestic helpers in Hong Kong, who were contributing to local economic development.

Summing up his visits to Malaysia and Indonesia this week, Mr Lee said he envisaged more substantial exchanges and enhanced co-operation between Hong Kong and these two countries. He will return to Hong Kong tomorrow (July 30).
